Three More Drivers!

Peter Chiodo - Thursday, July 27, 2017

Oil Monster continues to expand and recently added three new drivers to its growing collection team!

Gareth Davies from Warrington joins our team based in Manchester and will be responsible for feeding the monster from the northern part of that area, venturing into much of Lancashire to collect all that lovely waste oil.

Ray Brown from Middlesbrough will be the man to collect waste oil from around the North East and Scott Gleeson is the driver of Oil Monster’s newest tanker at Worcester, seeking out the waste from around that part of the Midlands.

We’re munching so much waste oil, we recently had to move to bigger offices, offer collections around more depots and put more tankers on the road. One of our new tankers munched 80,000 litres of oil in its first month!

For now, we still need to feed the monster! Contact us today to arrange collection of your waste oil – on 0844 8111 392. You might even see Gareth, Ray or Scott when your oil is collected!

Book Oil Monster Online!

Peter Chiodo - Thursday, July 06, 2017

Feeding the Oil Monster has never been easier. We’ve recently added a nifty tool to our website which allows you not only to get a quote for us to remove your waste oil
but also to book the collection and pay for it online. We’ll take care of the rest, and call you to arrange a suitable date and time to pick up your waste oil!

Simply visit the Oil Monster website and enter a few details and it’s all done! Presuming you already know all your contact details, all you’ll need to add is the type
of oil and the volume in litres. There’s also an online chat facility in case you have any questions. Could it be any simpler? Probably not!

Remember, we need your help to feed the monster! Why not try the Calculator today and to arrange collection of your waste oil? If you’re a bit more ‘
old school’, you can still do it by phone – just call 0844 8111 392.

We’re munching so much waste oil, we recently had to move to bigger offices, offer collections around more of our depots and put more tankers on the road. One of our new tankers munched 80,000 litres of oil in its first month!

0 to 80,000 in One Month!

Peter Chiodo - Thursday, April 27, 2017

Remember when we asked for your help to feed our new, hungry Oil Monsters? Well, you’ve certainly risen to the challenge – our new monster in Worcestershire managed to guzzle through around 80,000 litres of waste oil in its first month!

“This is amazing stuff” said our chief monster handler Lorna Roberts. “We can expect to collect around 100,000 litres a month from an area where we’ve had time to grow our business and spread the word – but to get 80,000 litres from a standing start is really impressive! We may need to look at getting more monsters!”

Can you help to feed our hungry oil monsters? Whatever waste oil you can give, large or small, please give us a call on 0844 8111 392 or email collect@oilmonster.co.uk today. Don’t let our monsters go hungry.

Oil Monster Seen in Farnborough!

Peter Chiodo - Tuesday, April 04, 2017

Did you spot the Oil Monster recently, when we exhibited at Southern Manufacturing & Electronics? We were one of around 800 exhibitors promoting to thousands of visitors from dozens of industries from 21st to 23rd March.

It was held at the FIVE event venue in Farnborough, Hampshire – also the home of the world-famous Farnborough International Airshow.

With so many different kinds of visitors there, there were bound to be plenty of companies who were just looking for an Oil Monster to munch away their waste oils.

Back in January, we announced the delivery of Two New Hungry Monsters, our new collection vehicles in Hampshire and Worcestershire so the timing couldn’t be better - to find more and more lovely customers to help keep these hungry monsters properly fed!

Can you help? Whatever waste oil you can give, large or small, please give us a call on 0844 8111 392 or email collect@oilmonster.co.uk today.

New Cave for Oil Monster!

Peter Chiodo - Thursday, February 23, 2017

Oil Monster is growing so fast, we needed to find a new cave!

We’re munching so much waste oil, we were in danger of getting stuck in our old cave but luckily, we found a bigger home nearby.

More space means more ability to handle more oil collections. Right now, we have plenty of room but if the monster keeps growing, we may need to find an even bigger cave in future.

For now, we still need to feed the monster! Contact us today to arrange collection of your waste oil – on 0844 8111 392.

Small Waste Oil Burners – Are You Legal?

Peter Chiodo - Monday, November 28, 2016

If you have a Small Waste Oil Burner (SWOB) are you aware of the changes to the law permitting their use?

Since 1st April 2016, DEFRA (The Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) changed their classification of SWOBs, ruling that they now fall under the Industrial Emissions Directive.

This means that SWOBs are now regarded as small waste incineration plants and as such, are subject to the same level of regulation. As the costs of complying with this regulation are higher than the level that most users would expect to absorb, it means that for most small businesses, waste oils will need to be sent for recycling via a competent and compliant collection service, click here to read more about waste oil.

As this is a legal requirement, companies that do not comply with these revised regulations will be committing an offence, which could lead to action led by the Environment Agency (in England) or Natural Resources Wales.

The unregulated use of SWOBs was already banned in Scotland, Northern Ireland and all other EU member states. Non-waste fuels such as gas or fuel oil can still be used.

If you’re still burning waste oil in your oil burner, make sure you stay on the right side of the law. We’ll happily collect your waste oil; quickly and sorting out all the legal paperwork.
